I had a close friend who was wheelchair-bound due to childhood polio and died in 1996. The best thing he used to do for me was get tickets in the wheelchair area directly behind home plate for Mets and Yankees games, and I would go as his companion. That seating was much better than any available to the abled.
One of my best friends uses a wheelchair. She gives me the best advice of anyone I know and it hasn't been more than a week or two since the last time she did it.
