Get wise! Why have an unauthorized private server if not to hide "pay to play" antics by the Clintons and their contributors?

    I don't know.

Why don't you ask Colin Powell?

    or George W. Bush?

(Note: I have a highly negative view of HRC and probably won't vote for her. But the wailing and gnashing of teeth over her private e-mail server is silly) This post was edited by OldSchoolTheSKOSlives at October 29, 2016 1:39 PM MDT

Not the same thing.  Powell did not have a private server.  He had a private email.  Big difference.  No one found a server in his basement.

@m2c -- It is a distinction without a difference. If HRC really did commit national security violations on her private e-mail, would it make you feel any better to know it happened on Gmail.com servers rather than her own private one? Not really.

I gave this subject some thought this morning. I think what's REALLY going on here is a variation of the mental phenomenon described by sociologist Barry Glassner in his excellent book The Culture of Fear. In the book, Glassner documents how people wail and gnash their teeth over media-sensationalized and personalized fears (Crack Babies, Workplace Violence, Road Rage) as proxies for expressing their concerns about the REAL underlying issues (the number of children born into poverty, dimished job security and worker rights, the intractable problem of heavy traffic).

Similary, people are wailing and gnashing their teeth over HRC's e-mail server as a proxy for their concerns about the privileges and lack of accountability of the Wealthy And Powerful.  And I concede both the concerns about HRC's behavior and the overall unaccountability of The Wealthy and Powerful are legitimate concerns.

But if one addresses the larger question of the unchecked behavior of The Wealthy and Powerful, it automatically puts Donald Trump, who has had the trappings of Wealth, Privilege, and Power his entire life, in the same bucket as HRC. And that doesn't serve the social/political goals of RAWFs who WANT to believe that Trump will be their champion in holding the Wealthy and Powerful accountable. So, instead, they focus on HRC's individual misdeeds while ignoring/denying the larger aspects that HRC's behavior is fairly common among our political/economic/social elites, and that Donald Trump is a lifelong member of those elites, with NO history of acting against elite interests.

But, hey, if it's so important to you TEH STOOPID EBIL LIBRUHL COMMIE DEMOCRAPS lose you'll engage in this exercise of hypocritical double-standards, that's your prerogative...;-D...

OK, so why don't we just "lock her up" with no evidence?

Didn't she say it  was because of the Government servers being so slow?
But I do feel that she probably has some problems in there she's hiding.
