Have you ever spotted something that seemed out of place in the locality where you saw it?

Eg like a jackhammer left leaning against the wall in a 7-11 store..

There's a palm reader/fortune teller down by the harbor.  I've ridden by it 1000 times.  I just noticed a couple weeks ago that the whole front of the little building is covered by a big banner which says "Trump Central."  I couldn't imagine what, why, and now?  I called my sister to share this news and she informed me that it had been there all during the 2020 election.  It was a little Trump campaign office. I had no clue and  I have no words.

One of the real mysteries of English speakers is the absolute refusal to correctly use apostrophes in writing as well as written or spoken incorrect usage of then/than, is/are, see/saw/seen, to/two/too, they're/there/their, you/you're/your,  affect/effect, would have, do/did/done, has/had/have and a few dozen others.  It is hard learning it as a child.  But once you get to junior high age you should have  created those little "tests" to use when you are uncertain.  Anyway, I continue to correct incorrect usage when I'm in the mood.

“It is hard learning it as a child.”

I must be weird; I understood it all very well from approximately age five or six, but then again, I had been reading voraciously for about two or three years by then. Grrrrrrr.
