    1.  My body couldn't handle it.
    2.  There is nowhere I want to go.
    3.  COVID.

I don't like driving and I get too impatient to get to where I am going. After a road trip I always wished that I had stopped and done some camping and sightseeing along the way.

There was a guy who used to load his van like in that image bringing all his junk to the flea markets. This post was edited by Kittigate at September 4, 2021 2:41 PM MDT

The driver will not be me.
I will hardly be able to be in a hotel, much less with someone else in the room.
The others don't want to be gone long enough to make it worth it in any way.
The others want to pay for a tour rather than just striking out on our own with a map.

    That's it.  I'm not going.

  • Ah, road trips. I can't wait to be super pumped for 15 minutes then bored out of my mind for 8 hours.

But seriously, I enjoy road trips of the proper length with the right people. I would not want to go if:

    1. The weather is too hot and the car's air conditioner isn't great.
    2. The scenery is boring for most of the trip.
    3. We get stuck in traffic.

All three have happened before on previous road trips, but the good ones are worth it. :)

You definitely would not want to drive across Iowa. Miles and miles of miles and miles.

That's like Saskatchewan, best thing is to drive during the night so there is nothing to see.

I drove across South Dakota in 1979. There was a warning sign in Wall for those going east to fill up on fuel. There was nothing for 250 miles.
