Could this be an indication that I’m losing my mind?

  I just counted out a handful of change, all different denominations, but instead of counting out how much money it is, I counted the quantity of coins.

    That is how I count money for my register at work.  I separate the counts by the denomination of course. Otherwise, it does not work. 

    ie.  I start my register each day with 4- $20.00, 4- $10.00, 6- $5.00, 20- $1.00, 20- Quarters, 50- Dimes, 40- Nickels and 100- Pennies.  

    At the end of the day, I count out each number of each denomination and remove the over count.

    It cuts out simple adding mistakes.
