Well, this recipe is not actually a pumpkin roll. So you win.  It is actually made with rolls as a base.  I may try it.  It is very easy.

I think you may mean a pumpkin sheet cake rolled up and filled with crème maybe?  I think I am coming up with a good desert in my head now.

I like pumpkin pie. My momma entered her pumpkin pie in a county fair contest and won 1st place. She said she got the recipe from a can of Libby's pumpkin pie filling. Do you think I sound sorta like Forest Gump?

No.  Not at all.  LOL  You sound like you had a momma that made excellent pie crust.  The Libby's filling is legendary and luscious, so I figure the reason she took home first prize is because she has a great talent for good crust.

No one can beat a great pie crust.  That is a sure-fire winner.

Her pie crust is rather simple, but I don't have the ingredients in my possession. It is an old family thing from the 1700's, passed down by someone called 'Grandma Sally'. I think it is just flour and salt mixed.

That does not make a crust. Flour and salt are in there for sure, but it needs fat.  Usually back then they used lard and it worked really well.

Now it is hard to get lard.    But you must have a deft hand and know how to incorporate flour, salt and lard to get that amazing effect.  I have made crusts for years and I still don't make them perfect every time.

And they are all simple ingredients, you are right.

Crisco!  That's the stuff I remember now. It sat on the counter in the kitchen when I was a little boy. She sifted the flour with a gadget.  I'll bet she still has it.

Sifters?   Yes we all have those gadgets still.

Crisco?  That has been around forever.   Sounds like a typical pie recipe.  I'm telling you, your mom's hands and mind is what made it win first prize.

    Lard is hard to get?

Shouldn't be. Every grocer in my area has it in stock. Check with the meat department.

Oh man.  Why did you do that? No I have to get me some and try them.  (5 more pounds to worry about now)

I have to watch food intake or I will not be able to do my job.  LOL   You cannot be a massage therapist and be huge.  Well we have huge people in school, and I don't know how they manage.  I could never.

It is enough work without the extra little Debbies to work off!!!!  ( I want those too)

I wonder why?  I cannot imagine why.  Oh, yes.  I know why.  Because she is an entitled, spoiled brat with no life that needs attention and likes to talk about herself and command things to  be done her way.   I mean who even drinks that?

    Yes. THIS IS A JOKE.
