At work, did you have to attend bored meetings?

  • Yes. I've had my share of experience with "meetings that should've been an email".

Yes.  Conference calls were the worst, but at least you could actually be doing something else.  I think this is why the mute button was invented.

I still do conference calls but mostly for keeping in touch with a group of old friends.  We all make coffee and talk like we were still in high school.  This post was edited by Thriftymaid at October 2, 2021 9:39 PM MDT

No, all of our meetings were interesting and productive.

Not really, that I can recall, in real life. Virtual ones, yes... 100%.  Thankfully there were no meetings at the one job I have had that I simply couldn't feel good about or enjoy learning more about.(Crooks, ugh). I got out of there before the s hit the fan. Looking back, they suspected I knew all was not above board, which is why they tried to pay me a good bit more to stay. I think most employers want people who are smart, but not TOO smart. If they're truly honest and not for profit, no problemo. Hehe.

I looked forward to bored meetings at my last job!  People in my department didn’t have to attend them, and it kept my boss, Mike the Micromanager away for an hour or two.  I would’ve been happy if those meetings would’ve lasted ten hours!      I can't say that I have. The type of work I did, meetings were sometimes necessary, but they were never boring. They were learning experiences. Something I always looked forward to. :)

Your fellow bored members do not look the kind of people I could successfully and beneficially interact with myself. Not unless I were to be provided a huge corner office, tastefully furnished, with simply monstrous windows providing a magnificent vista of the countryside, and a lithe and lovely young personal assistant whose only wish was to lock the door and abase herself to my every want.
