If you are not into doing regular exercise, what are your usual activities that you think help keep you in reasonable good shape?

Shopping, housekeeping, gardening, etc...

    Well, round is a shape, so I don't have to do much to maintain that.

    Trips to fridge, thumb exercise using the TV remote, 12 ounce curls with a beer can, and coming upstairs to get on the computer. Oh...and I don't eat very much, so my weight stays down.

    Walking for at least an hour around Costco, Kroger, Walmart, etc.  The problem is I spend money I can't afford while doing it. Grrrrrrr

    I clean up hairballs and assorted cat puke every morning. 

    It's practically a full body workout - 
     
    1. Locate puke.  Now, according to my Fitbit, this can get me anywhere from 40 to over 100 steps depending on how quickly I can locate the stuff (they say walking is the best exercise).
    2. Walk to paper towel holder (more steps)  
    3. Pull down 2 paper towels sheets (strengthens the biceps). 
    4. Walk to sink and moisten towels (yet more steps).
    5. Walk back to puke (just racking up the steps). 
    6. Bend down to get the puke (abdominals)
    7. Twist slightly.
    8. Toss in nearby trash (arm flexors).
    9. Get back up (works the quadriceps, hamstrings and glutes as well as your abdominals and other core muscles).
    10 Repeat steps 2-9, only this time, spray area with cat stain remover (spraying motion helps strengthen the fingers).
    11. Gently wipe the affected area (wax on,wax off) 8-14 times (engages the rotator cuff and carpal muscles).  
    12. Walk to paper towel holder.
    13. Pull down 3 sheets.  
    14. Walk back to wet area.
    15. Bend down.
    16. Rub area dry with towels, making sure to change directions on each wipe.  Do this at least 25 times.
    17. Twist slightly
    18. Toss towels into trash.
    19. Get back up.  
    20. Take trash out to can in driveway (more walking).


    This workout only takes about 15 minutes (depending on how fast I can locate said puke), yet it not only gets me well over 1,000 steps (1,000 steps = walking 1/2 mile), but also engages nearly every muscle in my body.  Why, if I accidentally step in the puke before I find it, I can even raise my heart rate.
