Do you have a phone call/text time rule? Unless it is an emergency, nothing before 0800 and nothing after 8 pm.

Why are you mixing military and civilian time? Shouldn't you have said "after 2000?"

    1. Most folks know what 0800 means, but not 2000
    2. It's not military time, it's universal time.

If they know 0800, then they know military/universal time, so they would also know 2000. Especially if it's so universal.

Possible false assumption on your part, but it is 2232 here and time for bed.

In general, nothing before 9:00am and nothing after 9:00pm (unless someone has texted/called me beyond those times and I'm feeling liking responding).

Nope, no rule. If I don’t want to answer, I just don’t answer.

Friends and family, between 7am and midnight.
Anybody else, business hours. That's if I bother to answer at all.

I don't use the text feature on my ancient flip phone, so no one texts me.  As far as actual phone calls, I don't generally call anyone before 10 AM and 10 PM is usually the cutoff in our family.  Anything after that is either approved in advance by email or an emergency.

I ignore who I want to ignore.

If it is an unknown number, I only answer between 9-5.  Family and friends know, I am an early riser so mornings are fine but anything after 9:00pm is touch and go.  I put my phone on charger for bedtime. Phone stays in the living room.

No. I, and my friends and relatives, go by judgement and etiquette not time-tables.

I would not normally telephone anyone after about 8:30 pm (or 20:30... see above); but might send a text at any time - I rarely do anyway - because I would not expect instant reading let alone answer.

Same with e-posts. Just because I've pressed [Send] late at night does not mean I will see a return until next day at the earliest.

I think the only genuine call I have received before 8am was from a friend breaking the news of her husband's death in the night. She rang early, before I left for work, and I was able to inform some mutual friends that same morning.

(I, and my friends and relatives, go by judgement and etiquette not time-tables. My friends and relatives and I go by judgement and etiquette, not timetables.)

When listing people in which you are one of them, place yourself last on the list. The first part of the sentence is a single clause, so no commas are needed until after the word “etiquette”, after which the next clause begins.
Based on the context in which you’ve used it here, “timetables” is a single word, not two words. Even if it were two words, the hyphen is unnecessary.

    Err, yes, thank you Randy!

I'm sure you are right and I must try harder in future!

I like to think the message still made some sense though. :-)
