When is the last time you heard a professional mispronounce a word that has to do with his/her job?

Here is an example. On a news segment this morning, a plant nursery owner was being interviewed. She was telling viewers some  things they could do in the fall to enhance their gardens and trees next spring and she pronounced the word 'foliage' as 'folage. I wanted to reach through the screen and choke her.

    I don't know when exactly but hearing someone saying 'nu cu lear' instead of nuclear makes me want to turn them off.

    I heard a commentator, just this week, mispronounce my congressman's name. 

    What's with the media pronouncing homage as oh-mahzh?

    We had a news person who pronounced 'Tucson' as 'Tukson'. And a few years ago the US Poet Laureate Said 'pome' instead of 'poem'.

    That poem pronunciation is quite common, but I still use the two syllable version.

    I don't know how an American adult can not know that that fun city in Arizona is pronounced Too Sahn.....but I just keep being surprised.
