Scientists are having a hard time trying to explain what reality is. Seems like just a simple question; what is reality?

Some things removed or added to might make an explanation easier.
If each of the billions of people in the world would express their opinions of reality it would all be entered into the Big Computer then there we make a summary to come up with the adequate solution to 'what is reality?'.

Well, fatefully, when it comes right down to it Kittigate, "Who the eff knows?" Back in the 70's via 1975 or so, "What's reality?" was a hot topic. This post was edited by CosmicWunderkind at October 23, 2021 8:18 PM MDT

I started reading a lot of science articles lately,  I am missing out on all the previous issues.

Take all of the billions of answers of what reality is...erase them. What is left over is reality.

    You are welcome!
I think it is actually beyond the capability of any human mind to totally grasp the concept of reality; it would require something more broad than just intellect alone. This post was edited by Kittigate at October 24, 2021 12:47 PM MDT

    Now...try to think of 'nothing'.

I think that would be impossible unless I could eliminate all my senses of awareness.

I guess 'something' has to create reality.

I did google 'reality is nothingness' and found logical reasoning why that does not work although one philosopher guy (Alan Watts) claims that it does. This post was edited by Kittigate at October 24, 2021 8:17 PM MDT

    Science prefers to complicate things:

"It is a big and bewildering concept, reality. An abstract way of saying 'everything that there is'- that is a lot to take in: matter, energy, forces, consciousness, even abstract ideas. How to even start?"

Since I'm not a scientist, I can adopt the less complicated definition. :)

Right.. scientists must work hard to prove things beyond any iota of doubt in order to claim something as a scientific LAW. That is why evolutionary process and gravity are still theories.
