    It depends on your definition of "over easy".

    Some people apparently think that just means the yolk is not mixed with the white, but is fully cooked.
    That's what I get half the time I order in a restaurant.

    Other people apparently think it means half the yolk is raw.
    That's what I get the other half of the times I order in a restaurant.

    I think it means the yolk is raw, just cooked enough to hold it until I pierce it.

      Very good points, now I understand what you mean and I agree with you fully. In restaurants, I order over medium in order to get over easy. It’s practically balut if I order over easy.

    I won't even order steak at Sizzler or Applebee restaurants any more.
    Even though they have pictures of what each type looks like ... their cooks can't get it right.
    IE: If I order a steak medium-well ... it either comes well done or medium-raw.
