Do you think that Jussie Smollett was REALLY attacked by someone other than the two brothers who claim he paid them to fake it?

Well, I didn't watch the trial or hear any of the testimony, but I believe that Jessie set this up himself.  It would appear that the jury felt the same way.

I would agree, but Rittenhouse didn't get convicted.

I am aware of that, but I think the two of them deserve each other.

They most certainly do, as would Jeffrey Epstein, had he not taken the coward's way out.

Those not privy to all the facts in the case, which means most of us, are not capable of an informed judgment.

Thank you for that angle. I’m not asking for nor about a legal opinion, a legally-based opinion, a legally-defensible opinion, a legally binding opinion, a legally admissible opinion, etc., I’m merely asking what people think. Just as your reply to me is 100%, others who choose to reply with their own opinions about the question I’ve posed at its face value also have validity within this particular forum. I sincerely doubt that anyone will take my question and it’s answers and run to Smollett’s defense or to the opposition’s corner as if either could be swayed by the content here. The trial is over, a verdict has been reached, and unless an appeal will eventually be considered, the legal question has already been decided in a court of law giving Smollett his due process. I am making no attempt whatsoever to reverse that or challenge it or support it or further it. My question is largely based on two points: a] Smollett still maintaining that his version of events is the truth, even in the face of overwhelming evidence to the contrary, and b] many Smollett proponents echo his protestations. I just wanted to see what people might answer in this small forum.

Nope.  It was all a setup.

I am glad they screwed it up and their hoax was not filmed by the street camera as planned.  If it were I believe, we would have suffered more riots over it.

I never heard of this Jussie guy until he hit the news. Do folks really give a crap about some douche bag trying to get some attention. And before you respond, I know I am giving him attention right now.

I think the jury got it right.  The fact that he did a walk-through the night before was pretty telling.

  • I'm not convinced that he did. I don't doubt that attacks like the one that he claimed happened to him still happen. But it sounds more like he was dissatisfied with various aspects of his life and thought this would be a good way to get attention. It's unfortunate that he chose instead to throw his career away and cast doubt on people who have experienced real hate crimes.
