Yep. Where I worked, smiling was mandatory. You were (supposed) to smile from the time you came in the front door until the time you walked out of it. There was one lady who always smiled. It didn't matter if something was good or bad, she always showed her pearly whites. When we we're doing inventory at 2 am, she's just beaming away. When a shelf of tomato sauce fell, she's just smiling away.
A guy rented a room in the house next door to me would come out to the backyard and was smiling at me a lot. He came over to introduce himself after a while, just wanted to be friends. After getting to know him better I concluded that he was manic depressive. He also had characteristics of OCD. He was a good neighbor to have anyway.
Smiling not staring. I don't have an engagement ring. My fiancé has not marked his territory.
