Does your kind of work allow you to get ahead of things or must you work at a certain pace so everything will coordinate?

I can work at my own pace. As long as it gets done.

  Here’s how I often referred to the job from which I retired: this is a never-ending proposition, because you could theoretically spend 24 hours here working diligently, effectively and efficiently, and there would still be more to do at the end of that time period.

My former job in corporate finance had a defined timeframe for everything.

Both.
Processing payroll is on a strict time frame.
But other projects I am generally free to do at my pace, as long as the project is finished by the deadline.
