    I always pronounce it "Sak-Ah-Jah-We-Ah" ... though last I heard, it was supposed to be pronounced "Sah-Cog-Ah-We-Ah"

      I’m going to go way out on a limb here and venture to guess that it’s not Lupita Nyong’o to whom you‘re referring. Given your age and the fact that you said you’ve been pronouncing it correctly all your life; she didn’t rise to relative fame until a few years ago.
