Just for fun, what question of yours am I answering if I say “never”?

 

  Untrue, mon ami! One of the reasons I know I don’t like it is that I tasted it when I was in Australia. A dab of it was spread onto the corner of a slice of bread, but even before that, as soon as the jar was opened and the stench hit my nostrils, I was already in for a bad ride. Tasting it confirmed that for me.

Good call. If your question had said 'won't say the word never', I would have been correct. You worded it to ensure nobody would get it correct. Excellent.

  I have absolutely no idea what any of this means. It’s a straightforward question on my part, no intended trickery is involved.

I thought it was a trick question, similar to what I would write. The way it is worded, you could answer any response with something other than 'never'.

 

  “Borrowed”? I thought you said it was the first installment of your bi-monthly donation to the retirement fund for grammar police officers.
