I was waiting in line outside the theater with the crowd waiting to get in to the Howard Jones concert. Two security guards came to me, took me by my elbow and quietly said, "Everything is ok but please come with us." Talking pleasantly, they escorted me out of line and walked me into the theater to areas I knew were not where the public would be going, to back hallways. I asked if I had done something wrong. They looked at me, surprised -- "You're not Howard's brother?" "No," I said.
They said, "Howard told us his brother was outside and did not want attention drawn to himself but he wanted to come in to see Howard. We asked, ' Howard, how will we know who your brother is if he doesn't want attention drawn to him?' "
"Find the guy who looks just like me and is dressed like me."
That's what happened to me as they took me to the back room.

Thank you for getting my mind back on good things -- people and things that have bettered my life. Jones made me also silently thank The Pointer Sisters and Johnny Nash, too. I owe so much to these six people. HoJo was later in my life but June, Anita, Bonnie, Ruth, and Johnny literally saved my life as a youngster during many, many challenging years. I listened to their music over and over. And listened more. And as an adult, their music and voices still hold up so well for me. I'm eternally grateful to them.
