  • No. Everyone has to wear hoodies and trucker hats like cool Millenial Hipster Web Developers.

Nevermind, these appear to be Hipster ties. This post was edited by Benedict Arnold at November 7, 2016 8:07 AM MST

  • It looks like something some hipster came up with on his new 3D printer in his urban loft apartment. This post was edited by Benedict Arnold at November 5, 2016 5:26 PM MDT

Horrid I say!  Look at that slimly tailored girly suit and metallic tie.......looks like some kind of alien.  Where I come from you might get beat up for dressing like that.

  • I know.
I've been looking at them. They may be a fad but I think they're pretty cool.
I don't know about that gold tho.

  • Cable ties I know, silk ties I know, the ties that bind I know but hex ties?
I think this falls into the fashion, not class category

I certainly hope not, but if I'm wrong, I'll stick to being untrendy.

Sweet.  It is time fashion for men changes.   I was hopeful in the 70's when the Indian suit look was in.
Forget what it was called but it was a nice clean look.

I believe you are thinking of the Nehru Jacket.

  • I've always thought variations on the Nehru jacket (hem to just below the butt) would be great for work and formal wear when weather's hot in Australia. Suits in linen or cotton with no need to wear shirts and ties would be cooler and more comfortable. Can't fathom why the fashion designers are not doing it.

The hexane symbols bring back the fond days of organic chemistry.

  • All those carbon rings with their six electrons wanting to bond with just about anything - creating long organic chains of life and synthetic polymers. Benzene rings and a zillion variants -- the hexagon is powerful.

I like the symbolism of the hexagonal cells the beehive, industrious little socialites nurturing each other via the hex. This post was edited by Benedict Arnold at November 6, 2016 10:53 PM MST

Nice answer professor. Corals often have hexagon colonies.

  • I like this answer just because it involves chemistry and covalent bonds.

I'm more of a fan of the Indole ring myself
