Do you maintain your own computer or do you have a professional IT guy do it?

Maintain?  I'm supposed to maintain this thing?  Isn't that what cats are for?  I mean, everyday my cat walks over to the computer, gives it a thorough scan, then rubs twice on it.  I always assumed that meant it was good to go.

I pay for a program to maintain my computers. It runs a scan weekly, for viruses, spyware, fragmented files, etc. 

I pay $50 a year for up to 5 devices. 

I have a contract with Geek Squad to maintain my electronics.

I've never paid anyone to do anything to my computers.  I struggle through, and that struggle is sometimes very real.  :)

The desktop I built myself and any maintenance required I also do myself.
The laptop and other portable devices is a job for a specialist.

When I have issues, I just walk four blocks to the local Geek Shop. Their people do great work.

I've built, and I'm maintaining my own computer and in this apartment, I'm the IT professional.

Thanks for the reminder; it's (over)due for a service or a replacement.
