Could be. A hoser is an American that pretends to be Canadian so that they can drink our beer and syphon gas from farm machinery. Cheers and happy weekend! This post was edited by Nanoose at May 28, 2022 4:45 PM MDT

I said it's an American who pretends to be Canadian and you said I am wrong, that it's an American who pretends to be Canadian. What?

You keep leaving out the part about what defines a hoser and why they pretend to be Canadian (so they can drink our beer and syphon gas from farm machinery). An American can pretend to be  Canadian in many other ways but it would not make them a hoser. For example An American can pretend to be Canadian by getting in a hockey game without a helmet and say it is Ok because I have free health care. They might get called silly but they wouldn't be called a hoser. This post was edited by Nanoose at May 28, 2022 4:47 PM MDT

Does the reason really matter? The whole thing is dumb anyway, because nobody would need to pretend to be anything to drink a particular type of beer.

The reason always matters. And a hoser doesn't just pretend to be Canadian to drink our beer they drink our beer waiting for a chance to syphon gas from farm machinery.
