The inaction displayed by and ordered by the police chief in the hallway outside of the classroom(s) where the killer was butchering children and teachers, and who had at least 18 other police officers with him; utterly inexcusable.

    :(

Agreed, and even worse,  Arredondo's attempt to justify all his mistakes.  What police chief would go to an active shooter incident without his radio? This post was edited by Spunky at June 15, 2022 1:32 PM MDT

It would probably slip out of his hands because of the donut grease.

I don’t know if it was Arrendondo himself or a spokesperson, but about a week after the incident took place,
I heard on the radio that Arrendondo had stopped cooperating with the investigators who were trying to figure out what happened on that day. The reporter asked the man, “What should the families of the murdered children and teachers be told about the long delay in storming the classroom?” The man avoided the question stating that because the funerals were taking place, the families should be allowed time to grieve privately before they receive the answer to that question. What exactly does he think will happen when parents lose minor children like this; that the grieving period will be one day, one week, one month, six months?

There are survivors who spend the rest of their entire lives grieving the loss of someone especially when that someone is a child, and especially when that child has been murdered. It’s ludicrous to assume that the parents want any type of delay in answers, just as ludicrous it is that any parents might have wanted any delay in the response to the threat that was immediately taking place, and many of the deaths could’ve been avoided or prevented if law-enforcement had acted sooner. I couldn't agree with you more.  If there was any reasonable explanation of the failure of the police to go into the building and disable the shooter, they wouldn't all be falling all over themselves to avoid answering questions.

And we might not be discussing this.
