Have you ever made your own raisin bread? I’m considering doing it right now.

Of course, I’m not referring rolling your own dough with raisins mixed into it and baking it yourself, nor is it my plan to do any of that myself. I’m just going to open a snack box of raisins and sprinkle them onto slices of bread or slices of toast.

Many times.  I like making bread.   Quite fun.  Cinnamon/raisin is the best.

I'm not lazy.  I actually make it from scratch (flour, water and yeast).  Knead it, proof it, punch it down, roll it out, add the cinnamon and raisins, roll it up, proof it again, bake and eat.  It is so SO good that I usually end up eating half a loaf right out of the oven.

Wow, it appears that you knead it much more than I do!

Specifically raisin bread, or any ol’ bread?

Is there another kind? Add yeast to flour and water and the bread can't help raisin'.

Incidentally, doing it as you describe is quite definitely cheating. That's not raisin bread, that's a raisin sandwich. This post was edited by Slartibartfast at June 22, 2022 7:33 PM MDT
