    Because the barista was trained at Starbucks.
    Some cafés in the UK are specifically advertising for Australian or New Zealander baristas. We're coffee snobs and won't stand for bad coffee.

    All coffee tastes awful to me, so I wouldn't know.
    The last time I tasted coffee I was about five years old. That memory was enough to keep me away for life.
