Did you ever whistle while you work? My students hated it when I did that.

Good job asking this very delicate question! I don't think anyone will be offended.

    ;)

I'm more likely to sing or hum than whistle, while I work or otherwise.

I am unable to whistle due to dental disabilities.  I love a man who whistles.  I once heard a phone that whistled a happy little tune when it rang.  Unfortunately the man who owned the phone was at the airport who had come from another country and didn't speak english.  He did tell me it came from his country in international sign language.  I have been unable to find it anywhere in the U.S..  :  ( I'm not sure what language he was speaking, it sounded a little bit like French.

Snow White only did that when she was stoned off her a$$ and "servicing" the dwarfs. Hence their song, "High Ho".

Yes.  However, "Take My Breath Away" wasn't well received by customers.

My Uncle used to whistle.  He was always happy, full of fun and loved by everyone.

I saw the movie. They were pretty good, but I don't think that actually happened. My comment to Randy was a joke...he is a Marine, I am a sailor.

Soldiers did whistle the Colonel Bogey March. Particularly as POWs, as singing "Hitler has only got one ball" was strictly verboten.

That one. In the clip, as portrayed in the movie. Fictionalised account of an actual event, one POW died for every sleeper laid on the Burma to Siam railway.

Hitler has only got one ball
The other is in the Albert Hall
    Himmler has something sim'lar
And poor old Göbbels has no balls at all This post was edited by Slartibartfast at July 11, 2022 6:10 PM MDT

No, I don't whistle while I work and the few times someone in my office did that, I found it very irritating.  I used to be able to whistle with two fingers to call a taxi, but since I had some dental work, I can't do that any longer.
