    It's a GMRS radio, similar to a dual band ham radio, but this is on the GMRS frequencies. Some people call them walkie talkies. To talk on this radio, you need an FCC issued license.  This post was edited by Chief Ten Beers at August 6, 2022 10:06 PM MDT

    I'm also a ham, and we rarely call them walkie talkies. We call the HT's, which is short for handy talkies.
