Without researching, do you know what happened 130 years ago on the morning of August 4 ("today"), 1892?

WeirdoWelby certainly knows. If you have a couple of days to talk with me, I'll tell you tons of things about it.

Knowing you, it's one of three things: A fire, a flood or a murder all of which happened in the late 1800s (I think.)

Yes! It is one of the three.

Are you perhaps remembering about one of my posts - - that three of, arguably, the biggest events that have intrigued me in my life all happened within five years of each other? You're close enough, so I'll share the other two of the three you mentioned - - 1889 Johnstown, Pennsylvania Flood and the 1894 Hinckley, Minnesota Fire.
    :)

I remembered what the events were, I just didn't want to name them so others could still guess. I did remember your posting g a out them, probably because I was the only one who had also heard of the Hinkley fire.

    Very cool.  :)

Yes, you're right. Livvie, too.  :)

I guess with all the current terrible fires, the Hinckley Fire might be another similar type of fire. But it certainly interested me enough to read a couple of books about it and then traveled there to visit the actual site/s. A very good-to-me museum about the fire there, too.

I hope you have a great day or great-whatever-part-of-day you're reading this reply.  :)

I’m going with it’s the day Lizzie Borden’s parents were found murdered in their home.  Why?  When I’m up early in the morning milking my cows and doing other work, I always listen to the farm report and morning news.  Reading Jane’s answer reminded me of the “this date in history” part of the morning news.  That was mentioned for today’s date in history.

Lizzie Borden's house is now a bed and breakfast It's in Fall River Massachusetts, I stayed there two years ago, they've decorated it like it would have been when Lizzie lived there, they also give tours of the house, if you're ever up that way you should check it out.

Yes, I have spent a night there, too. I happened to be the only guest that night I was there. Spent the night alone. :)

After knowing a lot about it all, it was interesting to be there.
