How many battery operated devices do you own? You'll be surprised.

I counted 23, not including numerous baby toys and watches.

    I'm not a nerd I'm a fashionably dressed pot dealer. I can tell the prime time to harvest and when the bud will either be a mind trip or body stone with a pocket microscope. Cheers! This post was edited by Nanoose at August 17, 2022 7:36 AM MDT

    Because electrical power around here is so unreliable anymore, most things I have use some sort of battery for an alternate power supply.

    However, there are just 20 items around here that run solely off batteries.

    About a zillion.  Maybe a bazillion, if you count things like a cell phone that have batteries that you charge.

    Mmmm, good question!

    I suppose one might even count the petrol-fuelled car - stretching the point a bit but the battery is there to start it, and to run some auxiliaries when the engine is off!

    Otherwise..... and counting both primary and secondary (rechargeable) cells, yes it certainly adds up. I decided to try and count them:

    I have -

     - three radios that can be powered from batteries although I normally run them from the mains,

     - a  small label printer that takes no less than 6 AA-size cells (despite it being of a leading make and having a p.s.u socket, I cannot obtain a mains-driven p.s.u. for it),

     - small battery-powered electric drill / screwdriver (and a much more massive one whose batteries have practically expired and now not replaceable).

     - a camping lantern whose battery may be recharged by winding a handle or from a mains p.s.u. - which I do not have for it;

     - two caving lamps; one taking either class of cell, but the other has a less-common size of secondary cell with USB-charging socket;

     - a couple of other lamps / torches and  two cameras that all take ordinary, standard A-series cells, rechargeable or not;

     - a few digital measuring devices using button-type cells;

     - the central-heating boiler's remote thermostat (wireless connection between them),

     - front door-bell, both the push-button unit and the chime unit (wireless connection);

     - oh, and my portable 'phone (I am typing this on a PC, but of course that has an internal battery for its clock)

    Me personally, or the family? Five for me alone - phone, tablet, watch, one remote and an XBox controller.
