Everything.  Even with glasses I can't see a thing on those phone screens.

Answermug, for starters. Which is why I was bummed when it wasn't working on the tablet.

I don't have a smart phone. My eyes were so bad for several years that it was pointless to get one. Although, in 2020 I had my lenses replaced (yes, right at the height of the COVID shutdown), The surgery was successful, but I still don't find the expense as necessary. My old timey Jitterbug is just fine! This post was edited by NYAD at November 2, 2022 9:22 PM MDT

It’s easy to say it’s not necessary, but you won’t see the value unless you get one.

Not everyone wants to have or needs to have or must have the same things as others, even if and when the others are a majority. People have the right to decide for themselves.  It seems condescending to impose your opinion on someone as if it’s gospel.

Obviously. Nobody I know thinks their opinions are gospel. But you do you.

The expense is excessive for someone who only leaves home with someone that has one, while I can still depend on my flip phone for emergencies. At home I have a couple of lap tops, a land line, and the flip phone. The total expense for these is less than a smart phone.

If it wasn't for the fact that Verizon (and likely most other carriers) will no longer support 3G phones after the end of the year, I wouldn't have bought a smartphone.  My old LG flip phone was all I needed.

Anything. I can't imagine watching a football game on a phone screen.

    Actor Guy Pearce, of course.

    Actor James Marsden, of course.

Actor Montgomery Clift, of course. (If I were demanded to choose the best actor I've ever seen, I'd easily choose Clift. Amazing set of work. R.I.P.)

Any scenic photograph - in fact any photo, really!

Any text document larger than a very brief "txt msg".

Any spreadsheet or information like a bus timetable.

    Any web-site.

Any CAD drawing - practically impossible on a tablet, let alone a "smart"-'phone.

I don't have a "smart"-'phone; just a very basic instrument with a screen only 58 X 43 mm display area. Its primary function is voice-telephony. Now there's a thing. I wonder if it will catch on!
