Excluding being a “latchkey” child, what’s an outlying incident wherein your parent(s) left you alone in the house for a few days or longer?

    My parents never left us at home for more than a few hours.

    Days?  Sixteen to seventeen seems to be the conventional wisdom, but only two consecutive days.  Only a few states have laws about this which I think is unfortunate.

    Oh yeah, back to your question...................she never left us alone other than the time between school and her arrival home from work at 5:40 pm.

    Didn't happen until I was nineteen. I had college finals, the rest of the family went on vacation - which was appreciated, I needed the quiet to study. And spend nights with my fiancee.
