Are you a "things" person? Would you marry someone you did not love if he/she could provide you with a neverending supply of things? Why?

No and no.

Heck no.  I cannot imagine a life without love and passion with my spouse.  

I will say though through my own life experience,  having to always struggle is a real stress on a marriage.  It's not wrong to want to be married to someone stable and reliable, financially and emotionally.
