Have you read more than three books about the 1903 Chicago Iroquois Theater Fire, like I have?



Truly horrific event (and reads), yet, something about it has me ever interested.

    No, I had not heard of it before, so I looked it up. I did read the entire Smithsonian Magazine article about it. That fire was in 1903 and then in 1911 there was the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory fire in Manhattan. A lesson not learned?

    The "Great Chicago Fire" of 1871 killed an estimated 300 people. The Iroquois Theater Fire of 1903 killed at least 600 people.

    Yup, interesting points.
    And I've read about those, too.

    And the Hinkley Fire of 1894 blew me away. Oh, MY.
    I ended up traveling there to find out more.
