Once upon a time long ago I had an interview with an outside person in a company for which I had worked for a few years. He was a stranger to me. The idea was to tell this stranger what I had contributed to the company. I refused. I said it would be self-serving and the people there KNEW what I had done and so I said I wouldn't play that game. The point was that bonus time was near and we were expected to tell him, the stranger, why we deserved one. I said I won't. I said the people here know what I do and I don't have to tell you what that is! I got a really great bonus that year by simply being honest. I have never forgotten that lesson. I never will. None. I'm not interested in getting into politics. Although I like writing about it, it isn't the same. The only office I want is my own desk with a computer.
