We agree. But sadly they are not. The told people to go home. The air and water are safe. I would not trust either one.

I wouldn't trust them either.  The EPA said the air at Ground Zero after 9/11 was safe and you can see how that turned out.

Yes it should be paid by the RR co.  But in the meantime, these people need help now.

    Were you effected by it?

    Glad you hear.

I would still be using bottled water, if I were you.

I'm 200 miles away and we draw our water from Lake Erie. Their water comes from wells.

Maybe Donald Trump and the GOP should be made to provide the residents in Ohio with temp housing. The Trump administration repealed a safety rule that  required  a electronic brake system on certain trains. Cheers!

Obama/Biden and co can pay their part as well.
"Though the Obama administration did originally enact a rule requiring those better brakes on some trains, its regulators sided with lobbyists and ignored the National Transportation Safety Board’s (NTSB) request that the safety rules apply to rail cars carrying the kinds of dangerous, flammable chemicals onboard the Ohio train. Under the rules weakened by both the Obama and Trump administration’s decisions, that train was not being regulated as a “high-hazard flammable train.”

Biden has been in office for 2+yrs and most of that with control of BOTH the House and Sen.

Yes, additionally help with their medical bills and relocation expenses if the land is too toxic to live on.

It actually happened in Michigan, 30 miles west of Detroit. Not sure how Ohio was affected.

Nope....that was yet another derailment. You are talking about Van Buren Mich. That train has only one car carrying hazardous material and it was not damaged.

My question is about East Palestine, Ohio.
Carrying several cars of vinyl chloride. Which did leak and explode. Gov then burned all of it. Producing phosene. A gas used during WWI, it is a war crime to use. But it is supposedly safer than the vinyl chloride.
FEMA is refusing to help, claiming air and water are safe.

It is not chemically possible to create phosphene from the combustion of vinyl chloride.

Don't residents have homeowners insurance? A good policy should pay for accommodations when you can't stay in your home.

Some would and some won't. A renter will not have that kind of coverage.

And with the gov (FEMA) claiming air and water are safe, ins will deny any claims.

Why should taxpayers pay for people who didn't buy insurance? If FEMA says it's  safe, the government  wouldn't pay either.  It's too bad the average person doesnt have emergency savings to tide them over, but why should they if they expect the goverment to bail them out. And yes, as a renter, I  have that kind of insurance.
