Not that I care about what happens in FL, but what does this even mean?  What does the governor's traveling record have to do with voting?

Currently the Governors travels are recorded as public records...review able by the citizens under the Sunshine Laws. The
FL legislature is voting to remove these records from public information....why now?

Nothing at all.  The claim is that it is to help keep DeSantis safe.  So if someone wants to harm him they'll have to go to Tallahassee.

But shouldn't his travels be public record after he has made the trips? Cannot harm him after the trip is over.
