Pick four great people you would put on your state's Mt.Rushmore like monument.

I'm from North Carolina and I would put these legendary people on the monument.

Jefferson and Washington were from Virginia, Roosevelt was from New York, and Lincoln was from Illinois. None were from South Dakota.

So?  That didn’t stop any of the presidents who are on Mount Rushmore from being placed on Mount Rushmore.

But the question asks for names of people from your state. Can’t you name four famous people from South Dakota?

The question doesn’t explicitly state that.

True. But who are famous people from there? George McGovern?

I don’t think my state’s contributions to politics, George McGovern, Tom Daschle, John Thune and Kristi Noem warrant having their own mountain, but if there’s a hill with dinosaur fossils somewhere, John Thune would fit right in there.

So, if we have to find another mountain for four of my state’s most famous sons and daughters, the mountain would probably have to have Tom Brokaw, Mary Hart, Cheryl Ladd and Shawn Colvin on it.

If they are so legendary, why have I not heard of any of them.

Most folks don't get Truman's middle name correct. You got it.

She got it correct because deep down inside of her, she secretly obsesses about and studies Randall D Randolph, another guy who uses just a middle initial and no punctuation behind it.  I get that a lot.
