How do you butter your bread?

Do you butter every single inch right out to the edges, the corners as well, or are you happy with a little butter in the middle?

I like to butter every single inch, this includes mayonnaise, jelly and peanut butter as well.

I use 40 calorie bread or Keto low carb bread when I can find it.

Not if you eat 100% whole wheat bread.  Until I tried Arnold's brand, I always thought whole wheat bread tasted like cardboard, but theirs is much tastier and the texture is soft. This post was edited by Spunky at July 5, 2023 8:26 AM MDT

True, but everything in moderation.  It's almost impossible these days to find any foods that don't contain too much sugar or salt.

You and I follow the same practice: whenever I spread something on slices of bread, I like to cover every inch of it.

I usually toast the bread, spread the butter as best I can, let it melt while the tea's brewing, then apply marmalade.

Alas, my bread and butter days are behind me now. A few years ago I was on a diet following a heart attack and I decided to cut way back on butter (among other things). I still buy butter, but I cut it up into tablespoon portions (the markings are on the wrapper) and freeze them. I mostly use them to treat myself by using them in oatmeal. I never have the patience to defrost a pat of butter to use on bread or toast. This post was edited by NYAD at July 5, 2023 8:55 AM MDT
