Would you hire a convicted felon?

    Under the right circumstances, yes. Giving someone a second chance can be the right thing to do.

    I have more than once.  They have to talk and act right. I never had any problems. But they each eventually found an easier job.

    I don’t own the company, my husband does so he makes the hiring decisions.  We have one employee who has a felony conviction on their record.  My husband had no problem hiring that person, they do an excellent job.  We just can’t send that driver across the border or have that driver haul hazmat loads.

    It would depend on the crime.  If it was a non-violent one, I would consider it.  Anything else is doubtful.

    That alone would not preclude employing him or her.  If the applicant's past included violent crimes against person(s), no I would not hire him or her.
