    and . . .

" Playing outside all the time when a child. Alone or with friends. No phone with me at all times. I played with friends who were in close physical proximity of me and we had a blast."

I was never told that. I was always given a specific time. But I have heard of others given that direction.

Not only rusty, but the equipment was invariably embedded in concrete or asphalt.  When we fell off, our parents didn't sue - they kissed it better, patched us up with band-aids and mercurochrome (remember that fire in a bottle?) and we went straight back to the playground.

This made me think about how they used Paregoric  on us for all kinds of things.  God only knows what would happen to a mom today who would dare rub a little on a baby's throbbing gum. This post was edited by Thriftymaid at April 5, 2024 2:42 PM MDT
