    Some mothers have it dehydrated and made into pills. It's a more appetizing way of ingesting the nutrients and getting the benefits. Humans are the only mammal that don't eat their placenta and the other mammals may have an instinctive knowledge of its benefits. Or they may just be hungry after giving birth and it's handy.
