I have never been in a position to have to defend myself like that and with God's continued protection never will.

I am not the type to egg something on and will normally just say it is not worth the fight.  That said, I do not believe e I or anyone else should be forced to allow anyone to abuse them.  Stealing someone's livelihood is abuse.

Is someone's life worth another's person's property or livelihood?  The thieves decide that they value that other person's stuff more than their life when they decide to steal.  Any victim they target could be armed and prepared to defend themselves.

Yes, I get and see your points. Well-said.
I understand from where you come. I can only imagine some of the situations you might come across in your line of work. And just having to think about thinking about the potential situations/potential preparation - - takes energy and thought for sure.

All I can say is that from the video, none of it looks particularly life threatening to me (at its worst, when thieves are outside, it looks like teenagers in a wimpy silly fight on a school playground) and I still seem to see that the owners could have stayed inside their building toward the end, before the gun went off. At that point, I'd think the business owners could have seen that they had gotten the thieves out of their building.

I don't think it's the business owners' prerogative to kill someone over a theft. I saw no life being threatened  -- other than the thieves being jerks when they got outside.
Yes,  the thieves have no right to steal. They put themselves in the situation. And they could have dropped the situation themselves after being escorted out. As could have the business owners.

But I know I wasn't there. We hear no sound on the video, either. That probably would've added to the situation's heaviness.

Thank you for your patience in my original sarcastic answer, too. I still stand behind my thoughts but at least we're talking and not physically fighting and accidentally shooting each other. :)

[ Have a Monster on me while we listen to Skillet, ha.

Had no idea I would like their music so much as  I have from your posts/suggestions here and there on the site. I find them underrated.    :)  ]

I like hearing your opinion on things even more so because we can disagree  without making a personal jab at each other.  Most people cannot do that.

I agree the clerk did egg it on...it would have been better to have locked the door and called the police.  But just do not think he should be charged for an accident.

I will grab a Monster now and listen to Monster by Skillet :)
