Have you been paying attention to the current Cricket T20 World Cup currently under way in the Caribbean and USA?

Top level cricket being played in America. Wonders will never cease, even if it's the T20 which is about short term entertainment with a lot of the strategy taken out of it.
Even more amazingly, the USA BEAT Pakistan - a full ICC member where cricket is the national sport. If USA beats Ireland (or the game is rained out), they go through to the next stage (Super 8) and may even play Australia for the first time ever.

    I don't follow sports much at all.  I do recall hearing on the news not long ago that the US upset some country where cricket is a big thing.

    They did - Pakistan,  who has been eliminated from the next stage. The USA v Ireland match was rained out, the resulting one point puts the US team into the Super 8 - this is HUGE for American cricket.
