How about that prisoner exchange?

President Biden and other World leaders just completed the largest prisoner exchange with Russia since the cold war. But Trump isn't happy about it and he has been congratulating Putin for getting the better part of the deal. Trump has also been claiming that this exchange cost the US billions of dollars - but if he was in charge it wouldn’t of cost the US a penny. I think it would have been better for Trump’s image if he sent all the hostages a life time supply of American apple pies and paid for a red white and blue fire work display. Cheers!

Releasing assassins, spies and terrorists...it never a good thing.  If there was money involved they will not tell us.  They will just send it and claim it was Russias money anyway.

There are still over 20 Americans held in Russia.  If we are giving up assassins, they should have had to release all.

The public will never know all the details of any of these negotiations. We won't know if these Americans we think are innocent are actually spies, for example.  But common sense tells me that paying enormous ransomes would only encourage Russia and others to hold more Americans in foreign prisons. And common sense tells me that spending billions on a prisoner release would not be approved by Congress, and Congress controls the budget.

Trump did not say Biden/Harris paid billions.  He said Russia had demanded billions for one of their hostages.  And that he would like to know if we paid them and how much.

I was referring to the money released to Iran, and that it is not US money. but thanks for clarifying.

Trump is unable to just acknowledge someone else's achievement or to stand aside and let someone else get positive attention. He had his moments and this was not the time for him to boast, exaggerate and make false comparisons. I hope that in private he has been able to reflect on how important our alliances and relationships with others are.

I’m sure that in private Trump was able to reflect on how important our alliances and relationships with others are – then an angry gorilla flew out of his butt. In Trumps unpatriotic rant about the exchange he took the time to mention that Harris has a very low IQ. Cheers

I'm sure in private, he has no idea what introspection or personal reflection mean.
