Too many parents are too lazy to teach their own kids. So either it's taught in school or they find out from their peers and porn. Not a good way to learn, frankly. Adults are assumed to know what it's about and probably don't want to discuss it outside of the bedroom. Kids don't (yet) and sex ed doesn't talk about technique. It gives teens, particularly girls, the basics about bodily autonomy and INFORMED CONSENT which they are NOT going to get from porn! Also things like gender identity and LGBTQI - throughout history that's at least 5% of the population but only recently has it become socially acceptable or even legal.
