       Applause


    I once did a piano solo concert performance in which, in the printed program, I asked for no applause at all. Between each piano piece I had 90 seconds of audience silence.

    The concert setting was spacious, beautiful. The "silent ambient" sounds between the pieces was a wondrous experience.

    I purposely planned. I desired music to be heard and then ambient silence.  :)  I found it a nice 40 minutes- 'sounds and silence' experience.
