My first thought was Peter, Paul and Mary's "Puff, the Magic Dragon" - - a song that was never a drug song to begin with. so, it fits "anti- drug" song for me.
And that final verse -- makes me cry almost every time.
I've heard for most of my life that many, many, many people believed the song was about smoking dope. But enough believe/d it that Peter Yarrow and group had officially declared the song's meaning was at face value -- the meaning you shared, yes.
