What would make your Grandma and or Grandpa roll over in their grave?

I always figured my Grandmother rolled over in her grave when she heard David Carradine died from Auto-erotic asphyxia
(he was our hero back in the 70’s).

Now I’m thinking she might be rolling over again because Hulk Hogan is chummy with Trump (he was our wrestling champ).
Cheers!

Probably knowing that Trump's policies are so closely akin to Hitler's.

Wake up - Israel didn't exist during Hitler's reign.  Israel became a nation as a result of Hitler's actions.  Try doing some research.

She's both right and wrong. Israel existed as a kingdom for a brief period until the end of the reign of Solomon, after which it was split into Israel (the northern kingdom, tribes of Joseph and Benjamin), later Samaria, and Judah (the other ten). These were overrun severally, Israel by the Assyrians and Judah by the Babylonians.
Although Judah was restored to the Hebrew people by the Persians, they didn't again enjoy self rule until the Maccabean revolt overthrew the Seleucid overlords. This again was brief, it was invaded and occupied less than a century later by Rome, the Hasmonean kings (Herods) were permitted a figurehead role but they were puppet kings under Roman rule.
The region was then ruled by the Saracens after the Roman Empire declined, then the Ottomans until the end of the First World War. Britain established Transjordan but completely underestimated the underlying tension between the Jewish and Arab people - and didn't have self rule, it was a British protectorate under the Crown.
The modern nation of Israel was established in 1948, the Allies pretty much being shamed into it - they'd promised Chaim Weizmann a Jewish homeland during the First World War, in return for his invention, ie synthetic cordite. They were losing the war up to that point for want of ammunition. They had reneged on that, then turned their back on what was happening to Europe's Jewish population from 1933-39. They may not have been fully aware of the Holocaust but they had to be aware of the mass imprisonment of Jewish people, for no other reason but the hundreds who managed to escape. They did absolutely nothing about it.
That said, modern Israel bears a shocking resemblance to Nazi Germany - they've simply shifted the scapegoat to the OTHER Abrahamic religion, Netanyahu's rhetoric is almost identical to Hitler's. This post was edited by Slartibartfast at November 29, 2024 1:24 PM MST

I am sure there were citizens of Republic of Texas who supported the Jewish people having their own homeland again, back then.
