Does this mean we aren't all animals with innate animosity and not exalted by any stretch?

While many people believe war is inherent to human nature, there is no scientific consensus to support this claim; most experts argue that war is not an innate part of human nature, and instead arises from social and cultural factors, with evidence suggesting that humans have the capacity for both conflict and cooperation, making war a choice rather than a biological imperative.

War comes from selfishness, greed and pride.
    - Someone has what another wants so they wage war - might makes right.
    - Someone does something another disagrees with, so they wage war - do it my way or die.
    - Someone says something that wounds another's pride.  Instead of forgiving, they wage war.

This is sinful human nature at its purest.  No love exists in war, only selfish pride.  Humans weren't made for this (they were made to love and be loved).  However, we relish selfish pride, and thus wars and calamities abound.
