If Trump loves tariffs so much why doesn't he just marry one?

A month or so ago Trump was saying that a tariff was a beautiful thing and he loves them. Today is likely the day that Trump puts tariffs on America’s 3 biggest trading partners. I think Trump should just marry a tariff instead of making America and other countries part of a weird love triangle. Cheers and happy weekend!

He has no clue as to what they really are.  Besides, he and his cronies) are wealthy, so they won't affect them.  The rest of us however ...

He's already jilted Kim Jong Un and Putin (claimed he loved them too).

He knows what they are. The talk about him wanting to deliberately crash the economy is starting to sound plausible.

I do not doubt it one bit.  Probably why he's so into cryptocurrency.

Well I think soon enough he will have a clue to what a tariff is – a tariff is something that can come back to bite him and make him eat some crow at the same time (he was wrong about tariffs all along). Cheers and happy weekend!

I seriously doubt it.  he isn't the brightest bulb in the box.  And he will never admit to being wrong (the world has been waiting for that day for 78 years now).  he'll just blame it on someone else, deny ity and spew more lies.

If we're getting such a raw deal with Mexico and Canads, why didn't Trump fix it in 2020 when he renegotiated NAFTA to the USMCA? The USMCA is due for renewal in 6 months, so he has another shot at it then. But, if we can crash the economy sooner,  why wait?

I think he didn’t fix it in 2020 because he wasn’t focused on the right things. Trump was pretty insistent that Canada drop its broadcasting regulations (a certain percent of programming has to be made in Canada and be about Canada). Trump kept insisting and Canada kept saying no we can’t do that because we would lose some of our culture. And finally Trump gave up.

Trump is now saying that the tariffs are because Canada treats the US so unfairly – and maybe in his mind not getting his way is being treated unfairly.

    Cheers and happy weekend!

Canada absolutely treats the US unfairly, letting them have cheap oil and power. Expect gas prices to rise by a dollar at least, and rolling blackouts/brownouts across upper NY state, Vermont, New Hampshire and Minnesota when Canada shuts that off as well.

Today I started thinking that maybe a good way to retaliate Trumps tariffs would be to set up toll booths along the part of the Alaska highway that runs through Canada - and charge American trucks to go through. So I just googled it and it turns out it is possible. The best part is the part of the Alaska highway that runs through Canada is in BC – so I will feel I helped stick it to Trump. Cheers and happy weekend!

Yeah and hopefully he will have another bad dream about his wife making the googly eyes at Canada’s PM.
