Are you aware that the SAVE Act will prevent the majority of married women from voting? Contact your Senator!

It stipulates that your ID must match your Birth Certificate, and for most married women this is not the case!

Under the SAVE Act, all U.S. voters would be required to provide either a valid U.S. passport or birth certificate, naturalization papers, military ID and service record, REAL ID, a government-issued photo ID that displays U.S. citizenship or a government-issued photo ID that does not include citizenship proof and a valid secondary document.

To get a REAL ID, a woman must present her birth certificate,  proof of SS#, and certified copy of marriage and divorces, proof of address.

So  all a married woman will need to do it get a REAL ID drivers license or non drivers ID.

Personally I am fine with that.

Did you know that non- citizens who are permanent residents can get a Real ID? A Real ID is not proof of citizenship.

The reason I asked is that you said the SAVE act accepted a real ID to vote. I guess I thought the SAVE act was about proving you were eligible to vote. Sorry. I will have to check into it further.

It needs to require proof of citizenship to register to vote. Then the Real ID to be presented to vote.

The list I posted was requirements to register.  Until now, Americans have been able to use a valid driver’s license or state ID to register to vote in some states.

Upon further reading, it requires the states to verify citizenship at time of registration.  The removal of non citizens from voter registration.
And imposes a criminal charge against the state worker who registers someone without citizenship verification.

To get my drivers license I had to present my birth certificate and marriage license proving a name change.

And it gets more complicated if your marriage certificate doesn't match your birth certificate because of multiple marriages. Women should just stop trading one man's name for another.

I know several women who divorced went back to their maiden name because of this.
